How to Set Up Mobile Messaging (Premium Feature)

If your plan has enabled sending SMS alerts, you can use this guide to configure the SMS provider.

What is the SMS Sending Provider?

It is a service, usually provided by a company, that has a connection with telephone companies for sending simple text messages, known as SMS. Currently in MVMCloud Analytics you can choose between three providers available, Twilio, ASPSMS and ClockWork.

Charge for Sending SMS

MVMCloud Analytics does not charge for sending reports via SMS, what we do is establish the connection between our system and the system sending SMS, this feature is available in some of our service's subscription plans.

What you need to do to use the service is register for some of the available plans, this means creating an account and choosing a payment plan. in the chosen service, and obtain the authorization data to be configured in MVMCloud Analytics.

Please note that payments for sending each SMS will be made directly by the service to you, via credit card, Pay Pal, etc.

When Should I Use This Feature?

SMS is an instant messaging service and is part of our [Custom Alerts] system (custom-alerts.md), you can use it to be notified quickly when a certain metric you are tracking reaches alert condition, for example, you have created a custom alert for all visitors to your website, and I would like to be notified when this number exceeds 1000 visitors per day so that you can take action. When this condition occurs, you will receive a report via SMS.

How to Configure SMS Provider

As stated above, you need to choose which SMS provider you want to use and have the authentication data to configure it in MVMCloud Analytics. In this section you will find details for configuring each available level.

To start the configuration, follow the following steps:

  1. Log in to MVMCloud Analytics and access the Mobile Messaging dashboard as shown below:

Twilio is a cloud communications platform that provides a variety of APIs and services to help businesses and developers to create and scale their communication systems. You can find more information about pricing from Twilio at https://www.twilio.com/sms/pricing.

First, sign up for a Twilio account at https://www.twilio.com. After signing up, you can find the SID of account and authentication token in the Twilio dashboard. Enter your Twilio account SID, authentication token, and phone number registered with Twilio to send the sms on this page.

About ClockworkSMS

The ClockworkSMS service is now part of TextAnywhere. Starting April 22, 2021, Mediaburst, Textburst, Clockwork SMS, and Survey Mill customers will join the family TextAnywhere. This means that over time, the brand you see on your platform, your invoices, and any customer communication will be TextAnywhere.

ClockworkSMS is an SMS sending service provider, in this section you will see how to configure it in MVMCloud Analytics to send your Custom Alerts via SMS to your customers or yourself.

First, sign up for a TextAnywhere (ClockworkSMS) account. After signing up, you can find the API Key and register it on this page, like this:

After you have registered the SMS service of your choice, you can create Personalized Alerts and include sending by SMS in the alert configuration.
