Plugin for WordPress

We created this plugin to facilitate the installation of the MVMCloud Analytics tracking code and to allow viewing of your website/blog metrics in your WordPress dashboard.

This is a free plugin and the stable version can be downloaded from this URL MVMCloud Analytics plugin for WordPress, This URL will automatically download the plugin zip file. What the plugin does

After installation and configuration on your WordPress site, a new item will be created in the Administrator panel menu called WP-MVMCloud, clicking on it will show the site/blog metrics screen that were received by MVMCloud Analytics. See the example screen:

These metrics are updated regularly, but not in real time to avoid site performance issues.

How to install

Follow the steps below to install the plugin on your WordPress website/blog:

  1. Download the latest version of the plugin MVMCloud Analytics plugin for WordPress, its name is wp-mvmcloud.X.Y.Z.zip, where X, Y, Z is the version number of the plugin; Wordpress plugin download
  2. Log in as an Administrator on your WordPress site;
  3. Click on the Plugins/Add new menu;
  4. Click the Submit plugin button; Add plugin for WordPress
  5. Choose the file you downloaded in item 1;
  6. Click the Install Now button; Install WordPress plugin
  7. After installation, activate the plugin;
  8. That's it, the plugin is already installed, and now you need to configure it.

How to configure

Configuring the plugin involves connecting it to your MVMCloud Analytics account and setting the parameters for the plugin to fetch information from the MVMCloud Analytics server. Follow the steps below to configure:

  1. Click on Settings/WP-MVMCloud in the left menu; Configure WordPress plugin
  2. There are 5 tabs where you can make settings for the plugin:
  3. Connect to MVMCloud Analytics - In this tab you configure the plugin's connection with the server MVMCloud Analytics you are using:
    1. MVMCloud Analytics Mode: This drop-down box has two options, Enable the connection or Disable. Choose Enable;
    2. MVMCloud Analytics URL: Here you must enter the URL to access the MVMCloud Analytics that you have an account with. Ex: analytics.mvmcloud.net;
    3. Authentication token: This token allows the plugin to access MVMCloud Analytics with the same privileges that you have. To generate this token, follow the following steps:
      1. Log in to MVMCloud Analytics;
      2. Click on the gear icon (Administration) in the top menu;
      3. Click on Personal/Security in the left menu; Create access token
      4. Scroll down until you find the Authentication Tokens section. There is already a token created with the description User's access, do not delete this token as it is used via the Customer Panel;
      5. Click the Create new token button, provide your password and enter a description for the token; Create access token
      6. After creation, it is shown to you, copy the created token, as it will not be shown again; Create access token
      7. Paste this token into the Authentication Token field on the plugin configuration page; Create access token
    4. Auto configuration: If this box is checked, when you save the configuration, the plugin will automatically create a website in MVMCloud Analytics with your website's URL. If the box is unchecked it will not create automatically and you will need to create the site in MVMCloud Analytics;
    5. Select the site: This checkbox contains all the sites you have access to in MVMCloud Analytics, select the one you want to check metrics for in WordPress.
  4. Show Statistics - In this tab you configure the conditions that will be used to search for information in MVMCloud Analytics that will be shown in the Panel/MVMCloud menu; Show statistics
  5. Activate tracking - In this tab you install the MVMCloud Analytics tracking code on your WordPress website/blog; Enable tracking When you arrive at this tab for the first time, make all the settings you prefer and click the Save changes button at the bottom of the page. The plugin will save all settings in WordPress and, if the Add tracking code field has been set to Standard tracking, the tracking code will be retrieved from MVMCloud Analytics and will be shown in the Tracking code field. After the tracking code has been displayed, click the Save Changes button again to save the code. Other settings are also available in this tab and they all have a ? icon, click on it to get more information about its meaning.
  6. Settings for Experts - Normally you will not need to change anything in this tab, as its settings are a refinement in the way the plugin works;
