World map of visitors in real time

MVMCloud Analytics offers a real-time map feature so you can literally review site visits as you go that they happen. This report view is located in the Visitors submenu, accessed through the navigation menu main page on the left side of the page.

Map with real-time visits

The real-time map shows the location of recent visitors to your website with their duration displayed in the top left corner. Large orange bubbles represent newer visits, while smaller gray bubbles represent older visits. These data are updated every five seconds and new visitors appear with a blinking effect.

An example of when this might be useful is if you are running an ad scheduled in a specific location and want to get an immediate read of your conversion to website traffic. It can also be useful if you have a low traffic website that has just launched as you can use the map to check the accuracy of your website visits. And last but not least, you can also use real-time location data to help you identify the source of attacks if you are suddenly hit with a lot of bot traffic and this can allow you to take action to temporarily prevent traffic from a certain region.

Analyze real-time location data

For more information about any of these visits, hover your mouse over the circle. This will display a tooltip that typically includes information on the viewed page along with data about the specific tracked location, local time, device information and acquisition source.

Real-time visitor map

By default, the real-time map shows the entire world. However, you can also zoom in on specific countries and regions by clicking on them if you need more details. This is especially useful for analyzing the impact of localized marketing campaigns in real time or if you have a lot of visits in one region. You can decrease the zoom by clicking on the map again.
